LASER SKIN RESURFACING

Fractionated or “pixilated” carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers are one of the latest advances in non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments. Laser resurfacing is one of the most advanced skin rejuvenation treatments available and is known in the industry as being effective in treating stubborn conditions such as acne scarring, skin pigmentation and deep lines and wrinkles.

The laser technique directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin. Laser skin resurfacing removes skin very precisely, layer-by-layer, resulting in fewer problems with hypopigmentation (lightening of skin). This popular procedure is known by several other names, including lasabrasion, laser peel, or laser vaporization.

What do I need laser skin resurfacing for?

You may be an ideal candidate for laser skin resurfacing if you have scars from acne, skin pigmentation, non-responsive skin after a facelift or fine lines or wrinkles around or under the eyes, forehead, or mouth. Resurfacing also tightens loose skin by stimulating new collagen formation which results in skin continuing to improve for up to 6 months after the treatment.
Co2 laser skin resurfacing should only be done by  experts to avoid any possible risk of complications.

Does laser resurfacing hurt?

Relax! Nothing will hurt. Prior to your session, your consultant will numb the area using local anaesthetic to ensure minimal discomfort throughout yoyr treatment session.

What kind of results should I expect?

Results can begin to appear progressively within a week as your skin heals naturally and new cells develop. The impressive thing about laser resurfacing is that collagen carries on repairing below the surface for months after your skin has healed and so results will get better and better with time.
